Fruit & Veggie Happenings in Your Local Community
Fruit & Veggies More Matters website has a page were you can enter your zip code and see what fruit or vegetable events that might be in your area. Currently, from our inspection, it seems to be limited to school and store programs, although the information we read said that the site could be used to post information for items such as "u-pick operation, store tours, fall festival, a stand at a health or county fair – whatever". This might become a place to check-out when looking for information about food related events or availability in your area.
Safe Fruits and Veggies website
The Internet can be a huge source of helpful information, but sometimes one might wonder at the validity of all that information. For fruits and vegetables, there seems to be more talk about organic vs. conventional, and how much one or the other could be better or worse for you. If you read some of the information from some that are on one side of that conversation, their message often appears to be that the other side's produce shouldn't be considered in the "good for you" side of things. How valid that message is, one could say is debatable. Many of us believe that eating fruits and vegetables, whether organic or conventional, is just good for you. Here's a website that appears to be promoting that idea. You might want to check it out.
